Exploring the use of artificial intelligence to invigilate exams

November 16, 2022

Watch On:

Summary

SINGAPORE – Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) is exploring the possibility of using artificial intelligence (AI) for invigilation during examinations. The invigilators were able to zoom in closer on screen if they spotted anything suspicious and observe the candidates with minimal disruption to the exams. Deputy principal Terence Chiew, who had previously been teaching and invigilating, said the system has since been used for school-based exams held at the auditorium, where it is installed. They were later replaced with higher-resolution cameras, enabling invigilators a much clearer and accurate view of students taking the exams.
